Sandie Walters was an amazing researcher and passionate patient advocate. She wholeheartedly believed in an integrative approach to healing cancer.
Sandie left this earth on January 24, 2018 after a bout with pneumonia. Just weeks before she was playing tennis, riding her bike and going for walks.
Sandie wrote this about The Cost of Treating Metastatic Breast Cancer:
“Although I have good insurance, my out of pocket expenses this year will probably top $20,000 (for such things as individualized molecular profiling, vitamin C IVs, organic food, supplements, massage therapy, yoga classes, and other natural healing remedies). There are others less fortunate than I who truly cannot afford the treatments they need. They either end up going bankrupt paying their co-pays for chemo or are denied promising integrative healing strategies due to lack of funds.”
Sandie’s giving spirit is the inspiration for wellness wish-list scholarships.
Sandie was fortunate to learn and experience the healing benefits of meditation (which she had never done before). Sandie was so inspired that she wrote an article titled Meditation 101! Read Sandie’s article here.
